Itinerary & Map

  • Day 01
    Arrive in Kathmandu
    • You will be greeted by our representative at the arrival area and provided hotel transfer. In the evening, we will visit a traditional Nepalese restaurant for a fine meal accompanied by folk music and a cultural program.
  • Day 02
    Morning drive to Pokhara (210 km, 6 hour drive)
    • After breakfast, take a 6 hour scenic drive to Pokhara – a tourists’ paradise located some 210 km west of Kathmandu. Evening explore the surrounding lakeside and shopping areas.
  • Day 03
    Pokhara Sightseeing
    • Drive to the ridge top village of Sarangkot that offers an unsurpassed panorama of the Himalaya and Pokhara Valley. Enjoy the sunrise views from Sarangkot and after breakfast we drive down to Pokhara for a full day sightseeing ahead including the Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, Seti Gorge and Tibetan Refugee Camps. We will boat on Phewa Lake, the second largest lake of Nepal. An hour’s walk up the other side of the lake is the World Peace Pagoda.
  • Day 04
    Morning drive to Nagarkot (242 km, 7 hour drive)
    • Depart for Nagarkot via Kathmandu after breakfast (approximately 7 hours) and enjoy views of the Marsyangdi and Trisuli rivers with splendid countryside scenery. Visit the famed Bhaktapur Durbar Square – a World Heritage Site with an extraordinary array of temples, statues and artwork with exquisite carvings, en-route to Nagarkot.
  • Day 05
    Morning activities and fly to Paro (2280 meters, 1 hour); Drive Thimphu (2320 meters 55 km, 1.1/2 hours)
    • Get mesmerized very early in the morning with the glorious sunrise view over the Himalayas! After breakfast, get transferred to international airport to board a flight to Paro (Bhutan). The flight offers one of the most amazing scenery over the Himalayan range. After visa formalities, get received by our representative and transfer to Thimphu, the modern capital of Bhutan.
  • Day 06
    Drive Thimphu to Punakha (1310 meters 75 Km, 3 Hours)
    • Proceed for sightseeing of Thimphu valley. Visit Trashichhoe Dzong, the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government's office followed by a visit to National Library which has vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, Arts & Crafts School – famous for traditional thangka paintings, Textile and Folk Heritage Museums – a fascinating testimony of the Bhutanese material culture and living traditions. Visit Handicrafts Emporium which displays wide assortment of beautifully hand-woven and crafted products. Then drive to Memorial Chorten, the stupa built in the memory of Bhutan's Third King who is popularly regarded as Father of modern Bhutan. The paintings and statues inside this monument provide a deep insight into Buddhist philosophy. Late afternoon, drive to Punakha across Dochula pass (3,080m).
  • Day 07
    Drive Punakha to Wangduephodrang (1300m) and then to Paro (150 Km, 5 Hours)
    • Visit Punakha Dzong, Built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative centre of the region. Punakha Dzong has played an important role in Bhutan's history. Damaged by four catastrophic fires, many glacial floods and an earthquake, the Dzong has now been fully restored. Then drive to Wangdiphodrang visiting Dzong and local market. The district of Wangdiphodrang is also famous for its bamboo products, slate and stone carvings.

      Drive to Paro with a short stop at Dochula pass. En route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627, now serves as the School for Buddhist studies.
  • Day 08
    Paro
    • Take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, the most famous of Bhutanese monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery hence it is called "Tiger's Nest". The excursion to monastery takes about 5 hours for round trip. Afternoon visit Ta Dzong originally built as Watch Tower since 1967 it is acting as the National Museum of the country and holding fascinating collection of art, artifacts, thangka paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong which has a long and fascinating history.
  • Day 09
    Fly Paro to Kathmandu; Sightseeing
    • After early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the airport to board a flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival received by our representative and get transferred to the hotel. Relax for the afternoon and enjoy a guided tour of Kathmandu’s unique attractions of UNESCO World Heritage Sites of historical and religious importance. The tour includes the Swayambhunath Stupa also known as The Monkey Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square with Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar and other age old monuments scattered around the vicinity. Later visit a number or two catholic churches located within the vicinity of Kathmandu.
  • Day 10
    Final Departure
    • Take care of any last minute shopping or sightseeing as time permits. We hope that you enjoyed your journey! Our representative will transfer you to the airport approximately 3 hours ahead of your flight time. We bid you farewell and hope to see you in Nepal again, soon.
