Duration: 13 Nights 14 Days

Annapurna Sanctury Trek

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a true classic set amidst some of the highest and most spectacular mountains in the world. Many of the peaks are over 7000m, including the famous twin-peaked Machapuchare, as well as Annapurna 1 and lll, Annapurna South, Gangapurna and Glacier Dome. The trek begins in the terraced foothills close to Pokhara. The first clear view of the mountains becomes apparent upon surmounting the Dhampus Ridge and, as the route passes through local farming communities, the vista gets more impressive.

The trail winds through the Gurung villages of Landrung and Chomrong to Hinko Cave. Beyond Hinko are excellent views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare. It then climbs above the Modi Khola River, through the 'gates' of the Sanctuary to Machupuchare Base Camp, 3480m, and Annapurna Base Camp, 3900m. Thereafter begins the descent to Pokhara via Ghorepani, followed by the ascent to the top of Poon Hill from where one can view the spectacular sunrise over the Himalaya
