This peak is the 14th highest mountain in the world. However, it is the shortest of all the peaks that are 8,000 metres and above! Despite being only 80 km northeast of Kathmandu, it lies entirely in Tibet. The mountain is hidden from Nepal, tucked behind the Langtang Himal and the main Himalayan chain. It has two summits: the commonly climbed lower summit is 8012m, while the true summit is higher, at 8027m – the point that our expedition guide really wants to reach!
